THE LOCAL'S GUIDE TO ONE WEEK IN WHISTLER

 

Because no one is more 'in the snow' than they are

Day 1

Arrive in Vancouver and embark on a short but breathtakingly scenic trip up the Sea to Sky Highway and arrive in Whistler, Canada. 

After checking into your hotel, take some time to explore the vibrant, pedestrian village; home to over 90 bars/restaurants and 200 shops. If you are renting ski or snowboard equipment, make your way to the rental shop to get fitted.  This way you are ready to go first thing in the morning!

7:00pm: Enjoy dinner, live music and the great atmosphere at Whistler’s favorite Irish pub, The Dubh Linn Gate!

Day 2

7:30am: Start your morning off with a yummy breakfast at Pure Bread…a locals favorite!    The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the pastries are delicious.   

8:30am: Spend the day exploring Whistler Mountain, including venturing out to the Harmony Zone, where you will be able to ride the high speed 6 person chairlift!    

11:15am: If this is your first time to Whistler, why not have a local show you around, by taking advantage of our free mountain tours.

1:00pm: Enjoy lunch on the patio at the Chic Pea.  Be sure to try the Calzones!

5:00pm: Journey by snowmobile or snowcat to the charming Crystal Hut, perched atop Blackcomb Mountain at 6000ft. Chefs' will treat you to a local interpretation of a traditional candle-lit fondue dinner.

Day 3

7:00 am: Grab your equipment and make your way to the Whistler Gondola.  Today you are going to enjoy our Fresh Tracks Breakfast atop Whistler Mountain

Board the Whistler Village Gondola at 7:30am and head up to the Roundhouse Lodge for a delicious, mountain-sized breakfast buffet. Then, as an added bonus, get your fill of fresh powder or perfectly groomed corduroy on the upper mountain before the rest of the world is even out of bed. 

After getting a few runs in on Whistler make your way over to Blackcomb Mountain via the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.  The journey between the two Mountains provides a 360-degree window into Whistler Blackcomb's alpine environment.

3:00pm: After your ski day, carry on your adventure with an exhilarating Zipline tour.  Ziptrek Ecotours provide an adrenaline rush like no other, while the educational component provides unique insights into the surrounding environment.

7:00pm: Enjoy a casual dinner at Pasta Lupino.  They have been supplying Whistler locals and visitors alike with fresh pasta and warm, welcoming service for 16 years. 

Day 4

8:00am: Want to take your experience to the next level? Whistler Heli-Skiing have exclusive rights to 432,000 acres of big mountain terrain. They have packages to suit everyone from strong intermediates to seasoned experts.

3:30pm: Après ski is a big Whistler tradition. Today, head to the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC), which is located at the base of Whistler Village Gondola.

5:00pm:  If you need to relax your sore muscles, end your day with a visit to the spectacular outdoor Scandinave Spa. This spa, engulfed in a forest offers the experience of hydrotherapy in the heart of nature.

8:30pm: After a long day, grab a pie from Peaked Pies.  Peaked Pies brings you the ultimate experience in Australian meat pies. 

Day 5

8:00am: Start today with a delicious breakfast at Elements, owned and operated by long-time Whistler locals who are known for their renowned eggs benny!

9:00am: Mush! Expect an adventure when you travel through Whistler's snow-covered forests on a two and half hour dogsled tour. Dog sledding is fun for the whole family and definitely something to brag about doing when you get home.

After a fun filled day, it is now time to experience some of Whistler’s finest restaurants with Whistler Tasting Tours. During this guided 3-hour walking tour, you will enjoy a full four-course dinner, where each delicious course is provided by a different restaurant and expertly paired with a fine British Columbian wine.

8:00pm:  End the evening off with a true Canadian experience and much loved winter pastime, ice skating at our outdoor skating rink, located in the village at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Day 6

8:30am: Grab your skis or snowboard and make your way to the Crystal Hut on Blackcomb Mountain.  Here you can enjoy some famous Belgian waffles for breakfast.

1:00pm: Enjoy lunch at Dusty’s Bar and BBQ, Whistler’s original watering hole with legend, lore and finger lickin’ BBQ sauce.  Located at the base of the Creekside Gondola, you will need to ski down Whistler Mountain to the Creekside base.

Towards the end of the day head to Base 2 on Blackcomb Mountain and feel the wind in your face as your cruise down the exhilarating Coca-Cola Tube Park! There's no skill or equipment required - just a sense of adventure and a desire for excitement.

7:00pm: For your last night in Whistler, it is time to treat yourself with dinner right in the heart of the village, at Araxi restaurant.

Day 7

Depart Whistler.
