JACKSON HOLE

About Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole has a reputation for steep, challenging terrain and is often referred to as “The Big One”. With 2,500 acres of legendary inbounds terrain, a 1261m vertical rise, over 11m of average snowfall each winter, and unparalleled backcountry access -  Jackson Hole offers a truly unique experience.

Whether you’re here to experience “The Big One’s” wild, untamed terrain, rolling, wide open groomers, or you’re just getting out on the snow for the first time, it’s bound to be an experience you’ll never forget.

Teton Village is located at the base of the slopes and offers on-mountain accommodation as well as a selection of bars and restaurants, we suggest giving the ‘Spicy’ at The Mangy Moose a try! For a more authentic cowboy experience take the free shuttle down to the town of Jackson and grab a drink at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. This western saloon has saddles for seats, live music and western dancing to boot!

Known for:

  • Steep and deep terrain
  • Western charm

Accommodation

Teton Village is the most popular location due to the ski-in/ski-out convenience offered. For those on more of a budget and looking for a livelier atmosphere the town of Jackson Hole is a good alternative. Free daily shuttles run between the two locations making it easy to explore both areas no matter where you stay.

How to get there

Fly

The closest airport is located in Jackson, just a 30 min drive to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. There are no direct flights into Jackson from Australia, the best route is to fly via Los Angeles (12-15 hr flight from Australia) and then on to Jackson. Flights are also available from Salt Lake City and Denver. All three cities make a great city escape pre or post your ski holiday.

Transfers are available from Jackson airport to Teton Village.

Jackson airport closes regularly during and after snow storms, so you might need to keep your itinerary a little flexible. Another gateway airport is in Salt Lake City, about a 5 hour drive from Jackson.
