RED

About Red Mountain

Red Mountain is one of the best kept secrets in Canada. This unspoiled resort is located on Canada’s famous Powder Highway and delivers 2,877 acres of skiable terrain. The mountain is best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers/snowboarders - if you’re looking for a unique and challenging ski holiday then this is it!

Red boasts an annual snowfall of 7.5m, in-bounds cat-skiing, non-existent lift lines and the friendliest locals around, Red really is a ski resort like no other.

Accommodation

The majority of accommodation is based in the ski village at the base of the mountain with a couple of options in the town of Rossland (5 minute drive). Accommodation options vary from moderate to deluxe ski-in/ski-out condos.

How to get there

Fly

The closest airport is Castlegar. When flying from Australia one stopover is required, the fastest route is to Vancouver (YVR) and then onto Castlegar (YCG).  Flight time is approximately 14 hours to Vancouver and 1h 10 mins from Vancouver to Castlegar. Vancouver makes a great stopover, we love spending a couple of days exploring the city before heading to the slopes.

Drive

The drive from Castlegar Airport to Red is approximately 35 minutes. Transfers are available to/from the airport. Another option is to fly in Spokane, Washington (GEG) and drive a hire car 3 hours to Red Mountain.
