About Jasper
Located in the breathtaking Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Marmot Basin definitely has the ‘wow’ factor. Only 20 minutes from the authentic mountain town of Jasper, Marmot Basin offers 3,000 vertical feet of superb skiing and snowboarding.
Here you will find everything from long, winding perfectly groomed novice trails to high alpine bowls and steep chutes filled with dry, Canadian Rocky Mountain powder snow. There is no waiting in lift lines at Marmot Basin as it is one of the least crowded ski areas in North America. Crowd-free, wide open slopes are just one of the reason skiers and boarders return to Marmot Basin year after year, we also love the non-ski activities such as dog sledding and ice walking.
Accommodation
No accommodation is available at Marmot Basin; instead all hotels are located in downtown Jasper or in the surrounding area. There are options and to suit all budgets in Jasper, with accommodation varying from lodges to full-service hotels.
How to get there
Fly
The closest airport is Edmonton. When flying from Australia one stopover is required, the fastest route is to Vancouver (YVR) and then onto Edmonton (YEA). Flight time is approximately 14 hours to Vancouver and 1h 30 mins from Vancouver to Edmonton. Vancouver makes a great stopover, we love spending a couple of days exploring the city before heading to the slopes. Another option is flying into Calgary (YYC), although the transfer time is longer at 4h 30 mins.
