Wanaka is home to two ski areas, Treble Cone and Cardrona. Treble Cone holds some impressive titles; it is the largest ski area in the South Island and boasts the longest vertical rise. Treble Cone’s longest run is a thigh burning 4km! With uncrowded groomed runs and challenging off-piste skiing, there is a lot to love about Treble Cone. The Snow Play area was new for 2017 and acts a great base for families heading up the slopes for the first time.

Cardrona is known for its consistent snow conditions thanks to its higher altitude and easterly-facing basins. With wide open slopes & plenty of space for everyone, Cardrona is considered by many to be a learner’s paradise. From the longest beginner trail in NZ, at 3.6km, to the only ski-field gondola cabins in New Zealand, even beginners can feel like a rock star on their very first day.

Cardrona features the most extensive terrain park facilities in the Southern Hemisphere, with
4 different parks that cater for all levels
of skier or rider including 2 halfpipes, a big air, world cup slopestyle course & a gravity cross course! Whether you want to stop & watch the action from the side-lines or get involved yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
