Nozawa Onsen is a charming village that is famous for amazing mountain terrain as well as its abundance of hot springs (onsens), and trust us when we say that both are a must do!
Nozowa Onsen is ranked as one of the best ski resorts in Japan, with a wide selection of runs offering great skiing and snowboarding experiences for beginners’ right through to the most advanced. Limited in-bounds off-piste skiing is available, the resort also leaves much of the advanced areas ungroomed to allow for plenty of powder fun!
The Village itself has a real sense of tradition with beautiful old streets and onsens scattered throughout the town. The Nozawa Onsen fire festival in January is famous throughout Japan, although make sure you book well in advance if you hope to experience it yourself!
