The Chamonix Valley is definitely one for the bucket list; this scenic area is nestled between the towering Mont Blanc range to the south and the Aiguilles Rouges Mountains to the north.
The town is steeped in history and played host to the first ever Winter Olympic Games. Chamonix is in a close distance to the highest peak in Europe - Mont Blanc (4807 m) and is the ultimate playground for snow sport enthusiasts. The skiing area offers you over 150 km of ski slopes, with 30 km for advanced skiers, 70 km for intermediates, and 46 km for beginners. You will find the most difficult run on Piste des Pylones, and for the less extreme there is always the wine and cheese!

How to get there
The closest airport to Chamonix is Geneva International Airport, just a 1.5 hr drive from Chamonix. Geneva is easy to fly into from Australia and requires just one stopover.
